WELCOME TO MY NEW HUB!
In all honesty, this should have been up weeks ago. I have spent hours and days and a few frustrated tears over this website here but I haven’t been able to bring myself to show all of you my hard work! I want to make sure that anyone who visits my blog has a great experience so I’ve done research on what to do and how to do it. I would be lying if I didn’t feel extremely overwhelmed because of it. As I’m sitting here with a list of “To – Do” a mile long for this site, I realized that I would never get this dang thing published. I have slaved over this thing day after day trying to make it perfect so I could make everyone who came to my site have a good experience. But here’s the thing… I can’t make everyone happy. I’m not Nutella and I need to stop trying to be Nutella.
The fact of the matter is that if you or I are trying to be our honest self, we will annoy or offend someone. It’s a bummer but it’s the truth. If I am truly myself here on this blog, (which is the case) I will inevitably annoy or offend someone and that is okay. Heck, I sometimes annoy myself! Not everyone has to like me, not everyone has to care but for those who do, this is for you. I am going to show up anyways.
Why so many blogs? This is literally the third domain, design and set of posts in the last year. But those other two, those were what I was seeing everyone else do. I felt like a phony blogger so all I wanted to do was blend in, to make everyone happy and follow the rules. But for every person I make happy there will be another who will hiss and boo so why not do what I want to do and let those who are not impressed go somewhere else? So here it is! This is me! In virtual form. This is my hub. This is where I will post, blog and update about me and my work. And I am proud of it. Its not complete or perfect but if I wait until it is, this bad boy will never go public.
As a creative, I find myself getting caught up in the perfection of everything. I hold myself back because I am a perfectionist to the very core of my being. I am a List-er and a Planner. I need to be in control and everything in its place at all times and when what I have been working on isn’t perfect enough I stop progressing. I freeze and beat myself up over it and work and work at it until its good enough. Which isn’t bad unless it completely stops you from progressing. I want to keep moving. I had been at a complete stand still these last few weeks and I’m ready to move.
So this site is about progress not perfection. Moving forward has never felt better and I hope you enjoy seeing the progress and improvements along the way. In the meantime, if you have any requests, questions or just want to say hi leave me a comment or head over to the contact page and shoot me an email! Ill see it either way. Lets make it a goal, stop trying to be Nutella, be ourselves and realize that perfection isn’t a product it’s a process. Lets embrace the messy buns, comfy jackets and loose sweaters and more importantly, let’s get moving!

We just recently got back from a fun weeklong getaway just the two of us and it was exactly what we needed. I’m so grateful for my awesome parents who took care of Leo all w
eek because I was able to relax and know that he was well taken care of and we could just enjoy ourselves. But I will be posting soon about that whole trip in a little bit. It’s always hard to come home from a trip but I was so glad that we were able to come home to decent weather so I could ease myself back into reality and after a week of living in my swim suits, I am finally okay with putting them away for the summer. Pulling out boots, Sweaters and Jackets has gotten me excited for the cold weather and softens the blow of saying goodbye to the warm weather and sunlight.
